Cool Facts: Libyan Desert Glass is a form of Tektite, fused with extraterrestrial material and the earth. These yellow crystals formed just like Moldavite. It was officially discovered in 1932 by P. Clayton, but has a long history that traces all the way back to Ancient Egypt.
It is believed (although no official crater has been discovered) that Libyan Desert Glass originated over 28.5 million years ago. Found in an area in the eastern Sahara - occupying both eastern Libya and western Egypt. It has been revered for thousands of years by ancient civilisations.
